I Can Be Your Liar, I Can Be Your Bearer Of Bad News

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it's already November 25, 2010.

Where did the year go? I think I missed the fall. And the summer. Oh, and spring and winter. Those too. Everything happened in shitty slow-motion, yet I somehow lost track of it all.

Luckily I have this hand-dandy blog to serve as my own personal time machine. (Not as sweet as a DeLorean, but we can't all be as McFly as Marty.)

Drank too much and can't remember a specific night?
Look at your blog!

Blocked out a memory but need to use it against someone evil?
Check out yer blog!

Wasted your youth and want some way to get it back?
Sorry, honey. You're pretty much screwed.

So, my Blog Time Machine allows me to look back and see how my November of 2009 went and then compare it to November 2008, etc. I can always re-read and see how things were in my "old" life. Ah, memories of stuff 'n junk. And my awesome dogs.

I also see that, while all the crap around me has completely changed, I'm still the same ol' me. Good, bad or ugly.

Hell, maybe next year I'll use my Blog Time Machine to look back and say "Man, I was a weird chick back then", and then hop in my jetplane en route to my personal island. You're invited, too. Bring beer.

(And while my other blog won't be an especially fun time machine, I have briefly stopped neglecting it. Briefly.)

So... where would your (Blog) Time Machine take you, boys and girls?

I try to not think too much about the past cause it couldn't get any better. Everyone can tell you that they had wonderful times when they were younger. I have a ton of pics/videos that I look from time to time and it makes me feel good about my past! I try to build for the future tho.. so I can always look forward to thing that will happen in my life.

Does that make any sense? Lol

It makes total sense.

I look forward to the future, too. But I've always enjoyed looking back on things. I hate the idea of forgetting anything, especially if taught me something. That's why I keep so many pictures and letters, etc. This blog has helped me remember some of the main important things have have happened in the last few years. Good and bad. :)

Being able to take a glimpse back at YOUR life is funny to me, because I can remember reading those posts. You're right, it was a lot different.

places i don't necessarily want to revisit.

Agreed. I can imagine. But maybe one day it'll show how far you've come. (And also how freakin' funny your students are... seriously, make that book!)

Oh, and D - It sure was. And look, you're still here. How bout that? ;)

If you've had such a hard couple of years, wouldn't you rather forget it all?

Nah, I try to learn from everything. Mistakes, situations, choices, all of it. Not everything was bad, and I blogged about the great things. Friends, dogs, love, good times, etc. I'm a nostalgic freak, to be honest.

You have bad taste in boys (yes boys) but you're beautiful enough that you'll grow out of it.

I can't tell if you're a bot or not, but that doesn't even make sense.

You are right Kris.
Our life is just a result of past experiences that brought us to our present. So it is really important to look back and take time to remember the past(good or bad) to not make the same mistakes or to the contrary to make us feel good about ourselves.

I just think its easier to live in the past than to think about the future. Part of it is because it is unknown and it is human nature to fear what we do not know. Bleh.. I'm getting too much into this, i'll stop lol!

You're completely right, Scott. And we definitely fear what we don't know, so it can be hard to embrace. It took me a really long time to, and I still get scared shitless about it. :)

Wtf is that JJ dude talking about?

Kris said...

Dunno. He might be a bot. Or maybe I have bad taste in boys. But it's ok, because apparently I'll grow out of it. Good to know....?

Good (yes), Bad (hope so!), Ugly (liar!)

What you call weird I would call charming. I'd bet many would probably agree and wouldn't want you any other way. Can your time machine transport me back 5 years so I could meet you then. I'd bet you were as charming then as you are now :) You'll make it, we all do eventually.

And on behalf of all cowboys you'd also make one hell of a pretty pardner.

You've just become my favourite commenter! Haha... Thanks, Cowboy! Unfortunately my time machine doesn't go back 5 years, and you wouldn't want it to anyway... I was 22 and made dumb decisions. Met the wrong kinda cowboys ;)

My blog time machine would show me that in 2008 and 2009 I spent way too much time staring at screens and typing furiously. I yarfed up way too much stuff and didn't get out enough.

2010 has seen a sharp drop-off in blogging and I'm more than fine with that. Mostly that's a result of overwork, but reviving two bands is also a factor. And I'll take that latter one over blogging any day.

Kris said...

I'm hoping my 2011 has me a) blogging less because I'm too busy being happy or b) blogging about the awesome things I'm doing.

Reviving two bands is no small thing, mister!

Much obliged pretty lady. Glad you appreciated the comment. Guess you could say I've been one of your favorites for a while then, since it's the not the first time I've heard that. Well, you're this here cowboy's favourite too, but of course y'all already know that :)

I'd like to stay and chat some more but I've gotta mosey on from this here blog-town. Got a tricky crossroad up yonder to navigate. Not sure when I'll be back but in the meantime keep turnin' heads and meltin' hearts with that real nice personality and super smile of yours, y'hear. I've got a hankerin' that someone, someday will only be too happy to declare you the only sheriff in town and you'll forget all about those early 'cowboys from hell'.

Sheriff Kris does like her some Pantera, Cowboy. Guess this mean ya know me! :) Interesting.

I bow to your article-birthing skills. I shall vindicate you familiar with my thoughts at a later date, yes? Glad you like my fashionableness of blogging. I try REALLY hard, dude. So hard.

Yup 'sho do - been here several times already, but under a different moniker. Giving that one a bit of a rest for now. Hope you don't mind but I just thought I'd change it up so as to keep things fun and fresh. Think about it REAL hard now. Remember what people used to say about Superman? He was always gone whenever Clark Kent came around and vice-versa.
