Your Head In Your Hands, And Her Kiss On The Lips Of Another

So, Christmas is over.

Presents have been unwrapped and are sitting around your floor, waiting for new homes. Your bank account is showing negative integers, which you plan to ignore until the new year. You've gained ten pounds over the past few days, but you laugh it off as a "food baby" that will magically disappear in mere hours. (You hope.)

Well, I'd like to prolong the holiday's warm, glowing, warming glow just a little bit longer.

Your ol' pal Kris Kringle, The Shamblin' Ramblin' Santa Chick has got one more present to stuff your post-Christmas stocking proper.

I'm giving away one HTC Snap Smartphone with Unlimited Talk and Text for 3 months to one of you awesometastic readers. Free, free, free from Mobilicity.

Mobilicity is hooking you up as part of their "Give, Get, Share" campaign to raise money for the S'Cool Life Fund. For every "Like" Mobilicity receives on their Facebook page, they donate $1 to the organization. (So go "like" it, help raise some money, and enter contests to get fun stuff.)

To win the phone that I'm giving away, there are two ways to get your name into the contest:

1. Leave a comment and let me know who you'd call first if you won the phone. And why. Entertain me with your reasons, I get bored easily.

2. If you're a Twatter on Twitter, just post "Hey! @ShambledRambler gimme a phone! #givegetshare #shambledramblings "

Simple, right?

So ditch your old '91 Zach Morris top-of-the-line mobile telephone, cuz you're about to win something better. (On second thought, give it to me. That would make me infinitely cooler.)

If you don't win, don't worry. There may or may not be a secondary prize for someone who may or may be awesome. Maybe.

Contest ends on January 5th. G'luck, friends.

Hey Kris,
This one was a easy one for me to decide when I read this she came to my mind instantly. I would use that one call to a friend who I feel deserves the phone to meet up with her. She has had a slight streak of bad luck. This year has been a rough one particularly , her mom who has been ill for sometime and who she is very close too, was hospitalized last August from a stroke and is still there in a ICU. The cell she has is not very good. Her B-day is in Feb. so I would give it to her then. Maybe giving her this would one cheer her up and two feel like maybe her luck will change.

Chris, that's the perfect answer to start this off. As usual, you're such a good guy :)

Hey, it's Kirby!
I thought about this one and I would have to say that if I won the phone, I'd have to call my friend. The same one that I've had a crush on since ninth grade, and the same one that I've never looked past no matter what I thought or said to anyone. I'd exchange numbers with her and probably have a long conversation with her. She may be the only female that I can be myself in front of. There's nothing to lose, I can only hope that she would think of me the same way I think of her. A phone would be a step in the right direction haha.

I'd call you, Kris. It's been a long time I've heard your voice, and I can't think of anyone anywhere that I would rather talk to!

Kris said...

Kirby - that is very cute :)

Mike - Suck-up! Ha.

ghost said...

i don't need a phone, kris. i just stopped by to say hi and to remind you to warm it up.

Do we have to give the phone back after 3 months?

Kris said...

ghost - Aw, hey you. I'm about to!

anon - Nope! You keep it, the Talk & Text plan is free for three months.

I would call my dad. I haven't spoken to him in three years, and I think it's time I let him know that I forgive him and want to re-connect. Those kinds of phone calls are difficult.

Gingermommy said...

If I won I would call my daughter :)

Kris said...

Lotsa family love happening here :)

I would call you and say "hey it's Stevie!!" and you would say "who?!?!" and I would say ya know Stevie!! And I just called to say I love you"! Then you would say "whoever this is, you're scaring me!!" and then I'd break into song

No New Year's Day to celebrate
No chocolate covered candy hearts to give away
No first of spring
No song to sing
In fact here's just another ordinary day

No April rain
No flowers bloom
No wedding Saturday within the month of June
But what it is, is something true
Made up of these three words that I must say to you

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

No summer's high
No warm July
No harvest moon to light one tender August night
No autumn breeze
No falling leaves
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies

No Libra sun
No Halloween
No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring
But what it is, though old so new
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
of my heart

Then you would give me the phone.

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart, of my heart,
baby of my heart

Masuka, I love you deeply. Call me and sing now, please.

I need a new phone and the free service woluld be a great way to test out Mobilicity. I've been hearing so much about them lately! I would most likely call my husband first. When I'm out I like to call him up just to make him get off the couch and check to see who it is, I'm a pest like that!

Hello my fine friend, hope you & yours had a very Merry Christmas.

Great post-Christmas post. Love the idea of raising funds for those less fortunate. So on that note I'll like Mobilicity's FB page and recommend that other people do too.
Re: my answer about which person I'd call first with that phone? - the person who needs a call the most. That poor soul who has nobody to talk to and for whom a conversation of any length, about anything would be a treat. Simple answer, not sure if it's the awesome one you're looking for...

Oh and if it just so happens that I somehow win the phone, I'll donate it to the charity of your or Mobilicity's choice - to keep up the spirit of sharing...

Kris said...

Aw, that's a good answer all around!

Erika said...

Would probably phone my Grandma at the retirement home and tell her about my win...then would say I'm sending her some positive winning vibes so she can dominate her bingo game vs. the other residents

jetson stamina said...

I would make no calls. I would donate the phone to the Ottawa Mission to use how they see fit. I'm sure that there are a lot of less fortunate people who might benefit from making a few free long distance calls this time of year.

I only like my phones if they have a 20ft cord that plugs into the wall in my kitchen.

Merry Belated Christmas

I would call my brother and brag about my new phone. He keeps bugging me to get a new one and rubs it in that he has a newer and nicer one.

Following you from @ameecq

I'd call my husband, and tell him to give all my friends my new number. They all text him to get messages to me. I need my own phone!

I would call my husband and tell him I won a new phone so maybe he'll be able to hear me when I call him now. As it is right now he can't hear me when I call him from my crapy cell phone.

MissT said...

I'd call ET and tell him he needs to phone home....

I would call my BFF and play a joke on her... she would hate me for a minute but then forgive me..u know like those sour patch kids, first they are sour then they are sweet!

Jaclyn Tersigni said...

I'd call my mum. Why? Because whenever I fail to win a contest and sigh "I never win anything" she comes back at me with "Someone has to win. One day it will be you." Calling her to announce my phone-winning ways would give her the opportunity to say "I TOLD YOU SO" and relish in it.

Kris said...

Some really good answers... the draw is today!

Kris said...

The winner was chosen earlier today, and the free phone goes to Chris "The Camera Guy", thanks to a random Twitter used that picked a random number for me. :) Congrats!
