I'm Big In Japan

Time for another video blog.

This one features a tune from my buddy Mike (of the bands From The Bridge and Seas), a look at how stupid I am when I dye my own hair, and a pretty frank discussion about depression. Hey, I didn't say I'd be uplifting.

And for the Daisy fans... sorry. She exited stage right.

This is the best video about hair dying I've ever seen. A benchmark, if you will. ;)

I don't get depressed, myself, but I'm happy to know that there are ways for people to deal with it! Life can be pretty brutal as is, and everyone's entitled to some happiness if they can.

I'm glad that what you're doing is working for you, however much or little. Turns out Daisy is a hero?

I dyed mine blue once when I lived in rez. Except it was actually called Deepest Indigo. The bathroom in our place looked like a smurf exploded.

plus, I had dark hair to start with... so it ended up looking like this weird grey black, and glowed dark purple when the light hit it right.

Heh. Sexercise.

Nick - Daisy has always been a hero. She saves lives. Like Superman. Or Ronald McDonald.

Pat - Smurfsplosion!

You saved her, and she returns the favour. Constantly.

Good dog. ;)

Are you offering YOUR boobs to get me out of my funk?
In other news: your hair grows super fast... or is it I just haven't seen you in a very long time?

I googled tips for depression and ended up here. I read a few other posts that you wrote about what you go through and then saw this video. Thank you for the honesty, humour and everything else. I cried reading a few, but in a very good way. You have made me feel a lot better. If someone great like you understands how someone like me feels, then I still have hope.

Krissy,
Thank you.
Every time you talk about it and discuss it, you remind me that I'm not alone. And that's probably the worst thing for me. Feeling alone.
You're a pioneer. Like you said, this subject shouldn't be taboo. You inspired me to write my first book (which has a heavy theme of depression) and my second which is focused on suicide.
Keep it up. There are a lot of people out there suffering needlessly and thanks to courageous people like yourself this disorder is starting to get the attention it deserves.
I need a dog.
